Who Owns My Heart Video Controversy: Will Disney Stand Behind Miley Cyrus?
Was Miley Cyrus’ “Who Owns My Heart Video” a desperate attempt to free herself from the house of Mouse? The big question now, after Cyrus’ lap dance video, is whether Disney will stand behind the star of “Hannah Montana,” which is now in its final season on the Disney Channel. Cyrus has been very vocal about being ready to leave “Montana” behind. But after standing behind Miley during her last attempt to prove how very grown up she is (remember those scandalous Vanity Fair photos), will Disney be patient with her once again?
Perhaps not. This is shaping up as a bigger scandal. You’d expect the Parents Television Council to lash out at Cyrus (they likely think “Montana” went too far when Miley kissed a boy!), but parents are also involved in the uproar, and they don’t want those parents to stop letting their kids watch “Montana” or other Disney shows.
Still, Disney did stand behind “High School Musical” star Vanessa Hudgens during her nude photo scandal – she came back for two more films with Disney after that, and the company did not suffer any ill effects.
What do you think – should Disney stick with Miley after this latest video? Or has she grown up and out of the Mouse House?

After all Disney makes millions off of Hannah Montana, they could careless. It’s a billion dollar franchise. They got the final season, so I’m pretty sure they are ok. Miley has grown up, and it’s time she leaves the “mouse house” before it’s too late. I don’t think she wants to still be on Disney Channel in her mid 20s like Brenda Song.
