The “Who Owns My Heart” music video continues to draw criticism, but begs the question: “Is Miley Cyrus growing up too fast?”

The move from teenybopper pop star to real artist is a bumpy road, as Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera have shown before Cyrus.

But is Miley Cyrus’ “Who Owns My Heart” music video taking it too far, considering that young girls look up to Cyrus and this video clearly isn’t appropriate for kids?

Given some of Miley Cyrus’ antics in the past, it would appear that her “Who Owns My Heart” music video is just one more racy item to add to her recent list of inappropriate-for-Hannah-Montana-fans violations – the skimpy clothing, the pole dancing, the simulated onstage kissing, and the lap dancing video that made the rounds online.

Miley Cyrus can’t stay squeaky clean Hannah Montana forever, that much is true, but it would be nice to have a bit more of a transition into adulthood, rather than her need to represent herself in an overly sexual way in this new music video.

What do you think of Miley Cyrus’ “Who Owns My Heart” music video. Is she trying to grow up too fast?

i personally think that she’s trying to shed her disney bubblegum days so she can be taken seriously. i also think that the more criticism she gets from the conservatives who wants to shield her with the “disney innocent”, the more she’s gonna fight back and come back with something more outrageous. I understand and respect the point of those parents who criticize cirus for being a bad influence on their daughters, however, they (parents) need to realize that the most effective way to prevent bad influence is in the home. you can only dictate the behaviors of your own kids, not someone elses.

I think that it is as much the video as the actual song that is inappropriate, and i think it was meant that way. I agree she wants to be taken seriously, but i also think that she doesn’t have to be so extreme, she could ease into it a bit…
I personally think that there is much worse out there, but because Miley is a role model to CHILDREN she should be mindful of them and how young some of them actually are.
