Chris Sarandon, ex of Susan, is an accomplished actor

Interest has been piqued about Chris Sarandon, 68, ex-husband of Susan Sarandon, now that Susan has opened up about why she never married long-time partner Tim Robbins. Chris is also set to star in the remake of Fright Night, in which he originally starred. He certainly has remained far more under the radar than his famous and Academy Award-winning ex-wife. But he has led an interesting life as well, abeit a lower profile one. Following are five facts about him:

1. He’s had an accomplished acting career: He played Prince Humperdinck in the cult film The Princess Bride and the vampire Jerry Dandridge in Fright Night, among other roles. He was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in Dog Day Afternoon.

2. He’s been married three times, divorced twice, and has three children. He was married to first wife Susan Sarandon from 1968 to 1979. She recently said of him: “He was the first person I ever had sex with and my best friend. I married so young but took it very seriously; I never had that kind of free-love 1960s.” He married and divorced model Lisa Ann Cooper during the 1980s; they have three children, Stephanie, Alexis, and Michael Sarandon. He went on to marry actress and singer Joanna Gleason in 1994.

3. He has a master’s degree in theater from Catholic University in Washington, D.C., which is where he met Susan.

4. He had a recurring role as Dr. Burke on the long-running drama ER which catapulted George Clooney, Noah Wiley and Julianna Margulies to fame.

5. He is an accomplished Broadway actor. He returned to Broadway in 2006 playing Signor Naccarelli in the six-time Tony-Award-winning Broadway musical The Light in the Piazza. More recently, he appeared in Cyrano de Bergerac as Antoine de Guiche, alongside Kevin Kline and Jennifer Garner.

Chris Sarandon never made a movie called “Friday Night”. The correct name of the film in which he appeared as the vampire Jerry Dandridge is “Fright Night”. Get your facts straight

Chris Sarandon also has a recurring role as a judge on The Good Wife this season.

Doesn’t Amanda Bearse who was Chris’s co-star in Fright Night, resemble Susan Sarandon, Chris’s former wife? Could there be a connection? What’s more, Amanda also co-starred
with TIM ROBBINS in Fraternity Vacation! Could this be a sase of Susan Sarandon getting a relative jobs with her various mates? It’s probably just wild speculation on my part, but does anybody here see my logic?

Amanda Bearse doesn’t look anything like susan Sarandon. She has small eyes and susan has Huge eyes!! lol

Liz, as Amanda matured into an older actress, her resemblance to Susan Sarandon has noticeably diminished. But as a young engenue, the resmblance was quite stricking. Watch “Fraternity Vacation” ( if you can bear to, lol) or watch “Fright Night” You may see what I observed. If not, then I must be hallucinating.
