IOS 010174 300x241 Dez Bryants Dinner Hazing Is This the Example We Want the NFL Setting for Our Kids?We try  teach our kids to support their teammates and always play nice.  Why can’t the big boys in the NFL play by the same rules?

What started as a nice gesture by Cowboys rookie Dez Bryant quickly turned into a really bad joke by the rest of the roster.  Bryant tried to be a nice guy and offered to take some of his teammates out for a night on the town at Pappas Bros. Steakhouse in Dallas.  The night out turned sour when receiver Roy Williams spread the word to the entire team and ended with Dez Bryant being stuck with a  $54,896 tab.

The team splurged on everything on the menu from the $10 salads to the $75 rock lobsters – some players reportedly grabbed up some expensive bottles of wine to bring home with them.   Bryant took the joke in stride and paid up for all of his teammates bad behavior!

As we teach kids just starting out in organized sports to always play nice and support the team, it’s like a terrible example to set for kids!  This type of hazing will only result in bad feelings and isolation from the team.
