Jaycee Dugard Memoir: Book to Tell Dugard’s Kidnap and Captivity Story
The Jaycee Dugard memoir will tell the story of a young girl who endured 18 years of captivity before her 2009 rescue.
Jaycee Dugard made headlines in 1991 when she was kidnapped at age 11, and then again, 18 years later, when she was discovered being held captive in the backyard of Phillip and Nancy Garrido, raising her two children.
Dugard’s story is an amazing tale of survival – it will be interesting to read her memoir, but is no doubt a difficult tale to tell, given she went through so much in those 18 years.
Publisher Simon & Schuster’s head Jonathan Karp commented about the manuscript written so far: “When I read the pages, I was moved and inspired by the raw power of Jaycee Dugard’s voice, her strength and her resilience.”
In the book, readers will learn more about Dugard’s ordeal and discover what her life is currently like, something that many following the case have been eager to learn more about. Jaycee Dugard is now 30 years old.
Last week, a California grand jury indicted Phillip and Nancy Garrido in the kidnapping and rape of Jaycee. A hearing has been scheduled for October 7.
Look for Jaycee Dugard’s memoir next year. Will you read Jaycee’s story?
