Comedian and Celeb Dad Greg Giraldo In Critical Condition
Most comedians have a history with drug abuse, almost as if its a pre-requisite for making it in the business. Greg Giraldo is no different and may be paying the price. The comic is in critical condition after he overdosed on prescription pills Saturday night at a hotel in New Jersey.
The irony: He was slated to perform that night for an event celebrating Drug Addiction Recovery Month.
Greg was found unresponsive during a party at his hotel. Paramedics were able to rescusitate him and rushed him to the hospital. Some had speculated it may have been a suicide attempt, but according to a source at his management company, the overdose was accidental.
Greg is a father of four and has had past issues with substance abuse. Hopefully this instance will scare him into living straight.
