Salt Chocolate Milk on Modern Family: Is It Any Good? (VIDEO)
If you watched “Modern Family’s” premiere, I know that just like me you were thinking: Salt chocolate milk? What? Is that any good? If you did not watch “Modern Family,” you are probably thinking I’m insane, so let me explain: Manny, Sofia Vergara’s on-screen son, has a girlfriend over who suggests he add salt to his chocolate milk (which is a controversial issue in itself).
The rest of the world screams “no!” while Manny tries it – but it turns out it’s delicious! Here’s the secret.
The salt enhances the flavor of the chocolate, sort of in the same way that when you toss some chocolate in your chili, it enhances that flavor.
I tried it, and it’s surprisingly tasty! Just be sure not to put in too much salt — a little pinch for one glass does it. It’s hard to describe the flavor, but I’d compare it to chocolate milk on steroids — every flavor is more robust.
Meanwhile, Twitter was going nuts last night with discussion of the whole salt chocolate milk thing (umm, much of it centered on Vergara’s seductive stirring of the milk, but we won’t get into that) and I found a few forums where people were wondering if anyone had tried.
Things didn’t turn out so well for Manny and his girlfriend, but her legacy will definitely live on in salt chocolate milk.
Here’s the video clip:
