1950’s pop singer Eddie Fisher has passed away at the age of 82, The Associated Press is reporting. According to reports, his daughter, Tricia Leigh Fisher, confirmed that Eddie Fisher died of complications from hip surgery Wednesday night at his home.
In a statement Fisher’s family said

 ”Late last evening the world lost a true America icon,” “One of the greatest voices of the century passed away. He was an extraordinary talent and a true mensch.”

Fisher had two children with Debbie Reynolds –Star Wars actress Carrie and Todd Fisher, before he left Reynolds for superstar Elizabeth Taylor. After they divorced he married Connie Stevens and had 2 more daughters, actress Joely Fisher and Tricia Leigh Fisher.

Eddie Fisher was the favorite of my High School years. He performed in St.Paul and we had our photo taken with him He was in the mode of Frank Sinatra at the height of his singing career.
