Celeb Mom Ricki Lake’s House Burns Down
Ricki Lake at the 25th Film Independent Spirit Awards
Ricki Lake’s Malibu rental home went up in flames Saturday morning after a couch was caught on fire. Thankfully, she escaped along with her two sons and their dog.
The ex-talk show host told authorities that she was trying to refuel a portable heater when the couch caught fire. The flames spread and destroyed the rest of the home rather quickly.
Her rep says that she “lost many personal items, but is grateful that everyone is okay.” She is currently staying with friends.
The great news is that everyone is okay. It’s sad to lose personal items, but family is much more important.

steve commented on Sep 20 10 at 5:52 pmHope she was insured, Glad everyone got out. I also lost EVERYTHING ( TWICE) to a Fire, and it is a VERY helpless feeling. But I too was Greatful to have survrived. some personal Items, just can’t be replaced, but they are easier to replace than people, or pets. God Bless them.
