Floyd Mayweather Jr. Charged with Felonies; Threatened to Beat His Children
The charges against Floyd Mayweather Jr. are now official: felony counts of coercion, robbery and grand larceny and four misdemeanors resulting from an alleged domestic altercation with the mother of his children, Josie Harris. Perhaps most disturbing is that Mayweather supposedly threatened his own kids.
The charges of coercion and harassment include threats Mayweather made against his sons. According to the documents, the boxer threatened to beat his sons if they “called 911 and/or left the residence.” If convicted of all charges, he could spend up to 28 years behind bars.
Forbes recently ranked him among the richest and most powerful athletes. Granted, he hasn’t been convicted yet, but what makes these athletes think the law doesn’t apply to them?
