Lindsay Lohan on Chelsea Handler’s VMA Skit: Too Soon?

44417PCN Lilo02 200x300 Lindsay Lohan on Chelsea Handlers VMA Skit: Too Soon?In host Chelsea Handler’s VMA opening skit, the ever-controversial Lindsay Lohan made a surprise scripted appearance. The skit showed Handler preparing for the show backstage holding a cup–and Lohan chastising Handler for drinking, clearly poking fun at herself, her court-ordered ankle bracelet, and her problems with jail and rehab.

But was it a tad to soon to be laughing about Lohan’s troubles? It was so recently that she was sentenced to jail and then sent to rehab. We have to say, we were a bit shocked to see her pop up so quickly on the VMAs. On one hand, it’s great that Lohan can laugh at herself–as long as she’s actually reformed and staying sober.

But on the other hand, making a joke out of an alcohol addiction and legal problems can send a very mixed message to all the young fans watching the show. Did Lohan and Handler make it seem, to young kids, that getting arrested and sent to rehab for alcohol addiction is actually a funny, cool thing to do?

What did you think of Lohan’s part in the VMAs?
