Lady Gaga, 2010 MTV VMAs

It’s the night for Lady Gaga!

Lady Gaga, who set a MTV Video Music Awards record with her 13 nominations, was awarded video of the year along with best female video, pop video and best dance video for “Bad Romance” and best collaboration for her mini-epic “Telephone,” featuring Beyonce.

Lady Gaga made a dramatic red carpet arrival in an intricate Alexander McQueen gown.  The theatrical gown was Victorian-inspired with a Mohawk feather headdress atop a long white wig, and monstrous stilettos.

She thanked the late designer on the red carpet, as well as thanking discharged veterans who have served the country.

I think Lady Gaga is an inspiration to younger girls.  She’s definitely not short of uniqueness and has her own individual style, something I think girls can look up to!  Em, until she wore the meat dress… what do you think of that?

When Lady Gaga won for video of the year, with tears streaming down her face, she revealed the title of her new album:  “Born This Way”.  Sounds like the new album will talk about accepting your own beauty.

Gaga also got teary-eyed when she captured the first televised award for Best Female Video for “Bad Romance”.  “Thank you so much all my little monsters,” 24-year-old Gaga said after she took the mic from presenter Ellen DeGeneres.

“It’s such a dream to be here tonight.”

Gaga went on to win her second award for best Pop music video, she went onstage wearing a gothic gown and a headpiece that reminded me of the statue of liberty.   She also won the awards for Best Dance Video and Best Collaboration Video.

The 27th annual MTV Video Music Awards aired live on Sunday at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles.
