Jerry Lee Lewis’ Touching Tribute on The View
Rock & Roll Hall of Fame superstar Jerry Lee Lewis was on The View this morning, promoting his newest album, Mean Old Man, and performing for the co-hosts. He performed one of his new songs (the audience even got a copy of his new CD), and his classic hit “Great Balls of Fire.”
Lewis, who is known for his 50′s rock and roll (and his marriage to his 13-year-old cousin), has seemed to slow down a little bit, but looked right at home sitting at the piano. He rocked the 88 keys with precision, which is not bad for a man who will celebrate his 75th birthday later this month! He also got sentimental with his performance, dedicating it to someone he said, “Would really enjoy this.”
So who did he dedicate his performance to?
His son, Jerry Lee Lewis III! Lewis has been married six times and has six children. Sadly, only two of his children are living, and Jerry Lee III, who turned 23 in January, was the lucky recipient of his father’s dedication. So sweet!
