Elin Nordegren’s Post Divorce Plans: Moving House
Now that the divorce papers are signed, Elin and Tiger are taking steps to create a new life. We’ve heard rumors that Tiger may move to NYC and now Elin is also house hunting. From the looks of things, she could be planning a move back home to Sweden.
Elin is currently renovating a country home in her native land. The $2.3 million estate is located on a secluded private island accessible by ferry in the summer and hydro-copter in the winter (the water freezes) so it would get her away from the photogs and allow her to keep a low profile.
Plus, it sounds amazing! The main house (yes, there is a “main” house) has a giant terrace, there are three small guest houses, a private beach, mini harbor, sauna, and a big playroom for her two kids. The one downside? Because the place is so remote, indoor plumbing can only be used during May to October.
Elin also owns a $2 million penthouse apartment in Stockholm and her mother owns a castle that she is welcome to stay at. This option seems unlikely though. “The castle is old and you can hear strange sounds at night. If it’s dark outside, your fantasies can take off,” Elin’s mother, Barbro Holmberg told a local paper. “My daughters think it’s scary to stay overnight.”
And while a move to Sweden looks like the easiest thing to do, offering privacy and close proximity to her parents, Elin does still have an active life in the States. She is studying psychology at Rollins College and is reportedly planning to open a mental-health clinic in Florida to help broken families. And, most importantly, Tiger will be staying in the US and it would be difficult for him to see the children on a regular basis if she moves. RadarOnline is reporting she was spotted looking at real estate around South Florida, so she may be calling this home or travel back and forth from the US to Sweden more frequently.
