bob schimmel howard stern special Bob Schimmel Howard Stern Memorial Special on Howard 101To honor Bob Schimmel’s passing, Howard Stern announced this morning that there will be a special in Bob’s memory tonight, September 7, Howard 101 (at 7 p.m.).

Bob Schimmel was a frequent guest on Howard Stern and a good friend to all on the show, so his death last Friday hit Stern and his fans pretty hard.

Robert Schimmel was involved in a car crash and suffered serious injuries after the car, driven by his 19-year-old daughter, rolled to the side of the freeway when she attempted to avoid another car. He died Friday at age 60.

Howard Stern talked about Schimmel during his radio show this morning and made mention of the Bob Schimmel special on Howard 101 tonight.

Stern noted that Schimmel is a “hard guy to forget.” Based on the outpouring of fan love, I’d say that’s about right.

Will you be tuning in to Howard 101 tonight to hear the Robert Schimmel special?

Bob had the perfect life for a comedian. Lots of bad things happened to him to create allot of new material. I laughed harder at his stories than nearly any other comedian. Unfortunately this may have been a blessing, considering Bob’s other health issues.

What a blow……When he was on Howard in Jan. you could hear the pain in his voice over all the misery and bad luck in his life. Hopefully he understood that there were hordes of people who loved this guy.

After all he went through with his health. And to hear he died from a car crash with his child driving, saddened me. Rest In Peace Robert.
