American Chopper Senior Vs. Junior: Tragedy Strikes at Paul Jr.’s Shop
A worker died after falling through the roof at Paul Teutul Jr.’s shop. The unidentified man was working on the Paul Jr. Designs building when he fell. He succumbed to his injuries shortly after.
The horrible accident left the guys at Paul Jr.’s shop shocked and saddened.
When Paul Teutul Sr. learned of the news, his initial reaction was very strange. Perhaps he was nervous to hear the tragic news but he almost chuckled at it and then quickly recovered and said, “every day is a blessing.”
In a tribute to the man who died and his family. Paul Jr. invited his pastor to visit the shop and say a few words which would also be comforting to the employees.
Three days after the tragedy, Paul Sr. tried calling Paul jr. and left a message. “Uh, yeah, I heard about the incident, I was in Canada… so, uh, you know, I guess the important thing is that you and Mikey are ok… and if there’s anything I can do to help out, just give me a call.”
Paul Sr. never seems to shed his tough exterior, even in a time like this.
In last week’s episode, Paul Jr. and Sr. appeared in court. Paul Sr. reached out to son Mikey but Mikey responded that if he wanted a relationship, he’d have to make amend with Paul Jr. as well.
Regardless of the horrible accident, Paul Sr. told his guys, “Uh we’re in competition, we’re gonna stay that way, but it’s sad for the family.” He told his workers it would be “ok to reach out in a situation like this” and “that would be cool”.
Hopefully something positive comes out of the tragedy for the Teutuls. Paul Jr. said he appreciated the call from his father but it was three days too late. He wishes he had called earlier, not after it was done.
“Actions speak louder than words.”

jcleno commented on Sep 17 10 at 5:47 amThe saddest thing that I saw in this show was when Paul SR. launched a dummy dressed to look like Paul JR. off a shingshot that he took pride in building,I can only hope that when SR. saw the mangled body of the dummy that was supposed to be JR. laying next to the motorcycle , that he never has to see that in real life. I felt that it was cold, cruel, mean ,rotten, and a true look at the inside of Paul SR. It was as if he was saying that Paul JR. is dead and I have broken him so that now he can move on. Sad thing for a father to laugh at on TV.

mike commented on Mar 30 11 at 10:39 pmI believe its a shame what money and greed has caused this family,on the buisness side of SR lets see i can build bikes and pay rick 1/2 of what i had to pay JR “overhead sucks”,on the bright side we now have 2 of the best bike builders Hope they can put there prides and buisnesses aside and be a family .life is too short and in 50-75 years from now the ? will be who built your bike.Neither will be a legacy like H-D/Cagiva/nortons/Triumph actual producers of turn-key bikes with years of history.
For now just very good awsome bike builders paul JR keep up the designs.
Michael Baxter commented on Jun 15 11 at 6:42 pmAny employee who came ro work and left whenever he felt like it wouldn’t have job in the real world.Lots of pride and egos involved, My take is Jr. could reconcile but he grouses and eggs Mikey on. Vinnie is no help with his bad mouth. I remember Sr. and the crew roofing his house when his baby was being born. They need to stop the bickering and be friendly rivals with two approaches to the phenomenal bikes they both build. Not enough credit to Rick who had fabricated a major portion of the bikes both Sr, and Jr. received credit for.
