Celine Dion’s Twin Babies are Alright: Rumors Untrue
Celine Dion and her twin babies are alright. Rumors were spreading yesterday that Celine was in the hospital undergoing emergency surgery after a pregnancy-jeopardizing health scare. But luckily, the rumors are false.
Celine’s representative confirmed that the reports were were “fabricated” and “100 percent not true.” The superstar is ”happy and healthy and never had a procedure.”
Whew! Now that that is cleared, what exactly was the rumor?
Celine has been quite public about her struggle to become pregnant. The detailed rumor had the diva undergoing a cervical cerclage, in which doctors either tighten or completely close the cervix in order to prevent its premature dilating and thus an early delivery.
“As with most women expecting multiples, her doctor wants her to stay off her feet as much as possible as she finishes her pregnancy,” says her rep.
During what has been a very joyful time, the Canadian singer and husband Rene Angelil were distressed by the reports of complications. “They’ve gotten calls from friends worried that something is wrong. To be so happy and then to get these calls, it’s been upsetting for them when they are in such a good place,” says her rep.
“Their son Rene-Charles started the new school year last week, Celine’s feeling great, and she and Rene are excited to meet the twins – they just can’t wait.”
How could a rumor this detailed have started? Thank goodness for Celine and her husband Rene that their miracle twins are healthy and growing. Celine became pregnant with twins after undergoing her sixth in vitro fertilization treatment. She is due to have her twins later this year.
