PRP 000793 198x300 Michael Lohan to Open a Rehab Center, Should Lindsay Be His First Patient? As if his kid wasn’t messed up enough, Michael Lohan wants the opportunity to mess up your kids too!

He has multiple stints in prison, an acrimonious divorce, and a nearly non-existent relationship with is kids to his name,  now Michael Lohan wants to help others solve their problems.  Specifically the father of the infamous Lindsay Lohan wants to open up a drug and alcohol rehabilitation center in California.

“Yes, it’s, true, I’ll be running it,” Michael tells Radar Online. “I think it’s time that Dina [Lohan] and I both step out of the media for a while, and for me that means getting back to what I know best — helping people with addiction.  I have my entire team of therapists in place and the financing is done.  We’re still negotiating the location.”

Is his desire to open a rehab center a reaction to Lindsay’s recent incarceration and subsequent stint in rehab?  Probably.

“I’m going to have a protocol that will be have to be followed. I don’t believe in prescription drugs,” Michael adds. “If people come in on them they’re going to have to get off of them, otherwise they’ll be looking for another rehab.  I believe spirituality and holistic methods can cure anything.  God will be a major element in recovery.”

It certainly sounds nice and above board, but Mr. Lohan has a long trail of untruths and publicity grabbing stunts.  Given his recent reaction to Lindsay’s release from rehab, it may be an attempt to reconnect with his misguided daughter.

“I’ve been saying this and pointing out that Lindsay was misdiagnosed and should never have been on prescription meds for years,” Michael told Life & Style of her release. “Hopefully, [Lindsay’s mother] Dina and the other people around Lindsay will do the right thing and finally get on the same page as me.  Now that Lindsay is out, God bless her.  She’s been through a lot, and I give her a lot of credit.”

Lindsay was released last week more  than two months early from a 90-day mandatory rehab stay once doctor’s determined that her psychiatric and addiction issues weren’t as severe as initially thought.
