Jon Gosselin to Write a Parenting Book
While Kate Gosselin works steadily to support her family, Jon Gosselin has remained jobless since the couple got divorced and Jon & Kate Plus 8 went off the air. Sure, he’s done the random night of bartending or selling of his autograph, but professional opportunist doesn’t quite make the cut for child support payments. We’ve heard rumors that he’s been trying to get another reality gig, but his contract with TLC has made this difficult.
His new idea for some cash: Penning a book on parenting.
Kate has also written a series of best selling books, so this is not a completely original idea. He thought of it with the help of his new life coach Sylvia Lafair who will be co-authoring the tomb. She’ll likely get a cut, in addition to her pay for taking Jon on “soul searching missions into the mountains of Pennsylvania at $10,000 a trip.”
A Slice of Life: Jon Gosselin’s Story will be a memoir, most likely of the tragicomic variety, detailing his “journey” from nobody, to reality TV character, to tabloid punching bag. ”
Jon is still deciding what exactly the book will be about, but knows he wants to focus on his parenting skills,” a friend of his tells PopEater. “There is no deal yet or timeline, but the [interest] in Jon from publishers is huge right now, so he’s going to strike while the iron is hot.”
Jon gets a lot of slack for being a bad parent, mostly for introducing his kids to his long line of young girlfriends, being caught on video smoking pot, and waging then dropping custody battles. But, he has been through a lot. His qualifications may not be stellar, but he has dealt with his divorce and parenting eight children. Maybe he can help some people? Paging Michael Lohan.
Jon will be leaving out some of his poorer choices. “What the book won’t be focusing on is how quickly he moved on, after Kate, with two much younger girlfriends, his partying nights in Las Vegas or his new huge tattoo that covers his entire back,” continues the friend, though making mistakes and learning from them seem it would be a big part of Jon’s becoming a better parent.
However, with Dr. Lafair’s help it might actually be good (or at least readable). She’s published an award-winning business book called ‘Don’t Bring It to Work.’
At least it’s not a picture book of Jon’s favorite Ed Hardy tees. I’ll probably read it. Will you?

Meko commented on Aug 24 10 at 2:54 pmUmmm , if I recall, when the show was Jon AND kate +8, Jon was always the better parent. She rather clean than interact with her kids….only NOW is she forced to do everything with them. I thought Jon was a good dad, he just needed a backbone when it came to his marriage.
couple of grifters commented on Aug 24 10 at 3:30 pmThe only “book” Kate actually wrote herself was the book of letters to the kids. Neither one of them seems in the mood to actually raise the children that Kate wanted so badly. To her they are nothing more than a means to an end – her own fame. To him they are used as poker chips for bargaining power. They both suck as parents. Poor kids are doomes. But Jon will always be the better parent. At least he actually loves them.
Bolidon commented on Aug 24 10 at 3:38 pmYou have to be kidding try raising 8 kids with a man that still is a chid himself, that’s why Kate came off the way she did. It is hard with just one kid never mnd 8. No I would never read a parenting book by someone who also has run away from his responsibilities!
waiting to hear truth commented on Aug 24 10 at 4:35 pmLet’s all hope there is NO personal information about the children. Kate’s attempt at book writing (publishing personal letters to children) should never have been published by anyone—what an invasion of privacy for those kids.
At least their dad seems to love them for just being his kids which is more than can be said for money-grubbing mother.
sue commented on Aug 24 10 at 4:37 pmWill read it whereas I have not even seen any of Kate’s books and could care less.
They both need to get ‘real’ jobs and let their children have a childhood before it is too late.
paula commented on Aug 24 10 at 4:42 pmCan’t wait for one of the kids to write a tell-all book!
HELEN M commented on Aug 25 10 at 10:24 amJON ONLY DID THINGS WITH THE KIDS FOR THE SHOW . HE OFTEN SAID ON THE SHOW THAT HE ONLY WANTED TO COME HOME AND PLAY WITH THE KIDS,NOT FEED AND BATHS.HE WOULD NOT BE SPENDING TIME WITH THEM NOW IF THE CAMERAS WERE NOT THERE .HE LEFT KATE BECAUSE HE THOUGHT HE WAS FAMOUS AND COULD HAVE ANYTHING OR ANYONE WITH OUT KATE. HE DIDNOT UNDERSTAND THAT WAS A PACKAGE DEAL.HE STILL THANKS HE IS SOMEBODY THAT PEOPLE WILL PAY TO SEE HIM OR READ HIS BOOK.WHY DONT HE GET A JOB LIKE EVERONE ELSE AND GIVE UP ON BEING A MOVIE STAR.HE IS LOWLIFE IN MY BOOK.
Barbara commented on Aug 25 10 at 12:28 pmWhy people continue to support this LOSER is beyond sanity. This is very simple to understand. Jon’s money has just about ran out. The kids are almost through taping and JON WANTS SOME MORE MONEY from TLC. “BLACKMAIL!” Jon’s idea of good parenting is playing with his kids and letting them do what they want while not having a JOB or trying to purchase a BED for his kids to sleep on or a larger living space that they can call home. People may feel sorry for Jon but he is no father.DRUGS, SEX, WOMEN, BAD PRESS, NO JOB,HERPES,etc. How can Jon write a book when he still holding onto Kates dress tail. FACE IT JON YOUR 15 MINUTES OF FAME IS OVER YOU LITTLE MONKEY!
Car commented on Aug 25 10 at 5:05 pmJon is a total LOSER. HE cheats on his wife and abands his children,i don’t understand why anyone with a brain would consider writing a parenting book with him[what a joke].Help support your children!
