So how much is the divorce settlement?

Fox news reported in June that Elin was to receive a whopping $750 million as a divorce settlement in return for her agreeing to a gag order forbidding her from speaking or writing about their marriage.

That settlement would imply that Tiger is worth at least $1.5 billion. Is Tiger really worth that much?

Tiger Woods is only worth $600 million, according to Kurt Badenhausen of Forbes Magazine.  What does this mean?  Likely the settlement size reported is exaggerated.  Fox News printed the $750 million figure and it was picked up by multiple other sources.

That amount was reported by an unnamed friend of Elin’s who praised her attorneys who uncovered assets that Tiger was allegedly attempting to hide from his wife.  Elin thought her husband was worth $1 billion, but her attorneys supposedly proved he was worth much more, according to this source.

The $1 billion figure  is the total amount of money that Woods has earned from endorsements and prize money since he went pro in 1996, according to Forbes. This figure doesn’t take into account the taxes,  attorneys, managers and agents all taking a percentage of his revenues.

After the numerous adulteries, Tiger’s earnings dropped after losing several endorsements. But he still earned $105 million in the past year.

Kurt Badenhausen’s estimate is that Woods is worth $600 million and any divorce settlement is likely to be worth a fraction of the reported amount.

So even if the settlement is a fraction, Elin would walk away with anywhere from $100 – 300 million, is my guess.
