Teen Mom’s Maci On Co-parenting With Ex Ryan
For MTV Teen Mom Maci Bookout, trying to balance raising her son with school and work is difficult enough. Add her ex-fiancé Ryan to the mix and, well, things do not get any easier. At all.
Though the two called it quits when it came to their relationship, they share custody of their adorable 22-month-old son, Bentley. And, judging by Ryan’s ice-cold attitude towards the teen mom, I’d say that’s about all these former lovers share.
“We barely speak,” Maci, now 19-years-old, tells Us Weekly. “But I don’t think it’s a bad thing. We just try to avoid arguments as much as possible.”
Don’t be fooled. Avoiding arguments does not mean this strong woman is a push over. When it comes to raising her son, Maci explains that she is the disciplinary parent- and for good reason! The teen explains, “I think Ryan spoils Bentley and really has no boundaries as far as discipline. With me, I don’t want Bentley to grow up and be a brat when he’s 4 years old.”
As for Ryan’s parenting technique? According to Maci, it’s essentially non-existent. “As far as Bentley getting fed, his diaper changed, taking a bath, it’s mainly Ryan’s mom doing all of that,” Bookout says.

jenna commented on Sep 10 10 at 1:59 amjust watched the latest episode of teen mom. ryan is such a loser. the only reason he wants more time with bentley is so he doesn’t have to pay as much child support. he’s never ask to get more custody of bentley until he realized his parents were going to do all the parenting for him. he is lazy and worthless. and his friend saying that bentley needs a father figure? yeah, right, ryan is the worst father figure. ryan’s parents are going to raise bentley if ryan gets more custody. when has he ever shown interest in seeing bentley more? maci is the better parent by far!
