Celebrity Cancer Survivors Sign On to Stand Up to Cancer
Stand Up to Cancer’s mega-fundraising television event is going to be star-studded.
An extraordinary line-up of actors, musicians, athletes and journalists have banded together for Stand Up To Cancer (SU2C), the groundbreaking initiative aimed at raising funds to accelerate innovative cancer research bringing new therapies to patients quickly that will saves lives now.
The telethon will air on September 10th with appearances from celebrity moms Reese Witherspoon, Cindy Crawford, Alison Sweeney, Alyson Hannigan, and Christina Applegate, who is pregnant and survived breast cancer.
Joining them will be cancer survivors Lance Armstrong, Dexter’s Michael C. Hall, former ER star Maura Tierney, Good Morning America’s Robin Roberts, actress Marissa Jaret Winokur, Fran Drescher, Survivor winner Ethan Zohn and attorney/author Elizabeth Edwards.
Maura Tierney, Christina Applegate, Robin Roberts and Elizabeth Edwards all battled breast cancer.
Other celebs joining are Queen Latifah, Laura Linney, Seth Rogen, Sally Field, Stevie Wonder, Ray Liotta and even the Simpsons.
The telethon will be hosted by Katie Couric, Diane Sawyer and Brian Williams and will be telecast live without commercials on major networks and various cable channels.
