GRU 001091 114x300 Charmaine Blake Speaks Out About Frank Ryans Crash; Warns About Texting and DrivingIt was reported yesterday that plastic surgeon to the stars, Dr. Frank Ryan, was twittering from his phone just briefly before his fatal car crash in Malibu. Now, Charmaine Blake, ex girlfriend of the surgeon who worked with such celebrities as Heidi Montag, is speaking out about Ryan’s accident and his dangerous texting.

“He lived up in Malibu on a tiny street and he was texting while driving and he accidentally went over the cliff,” Blake told People.com. The celebrity publicist’s dog, Jill (Blake’s middle name) was in the car with Ryan at the time of the crash, and survived with a few injuries.

Though broken up, Blake said Ryan was the “love of [her] life” and their relationship was the only serious one she’s had. And in the midst of the tragedy, one thing she made sure to note is that “people should not text and drive at all.”

Is this horrific event the lesson parents and children need to really convince them texting–or using phones at all, really–while driving is simply not worth it? Parents, take note!
