Angelina Jolie Won’t Play Marilyn Monroe: 5 Other Actresses Who Fit The Role
A rep for Angelina Jolie is confirming that the star has no plans to play Marilyn Monroe in an upcoming film, despite rumors to the contrary.
The film is to be adapted from author Andrew O’Hagans novel, The Life and Opinions of Maf the Dog, and he said that Angelina Jolie was going to play the role.
As much as people would love to see this celebrity mom take on Marilyn’s persona, her rep assures that “Angelina is NOT attached to this project.” For now, the rep insinuates that Jolie playing Marilyn is just a rumor, but has the potential to happen. ”It sounds very nice – I just haven’t got the phone call yet. You guys will probably know before I do.”, were her words.
Although Angelina is certainly sultry and sexy enough to portray Marilyn Monroe, there are some other actresses who would also be a good fit for the late movie star’s role.
Scarlett Johansson - With her voluptuous figure and porcelain skin, Scarlett could easily be mistaken for a modern-day Marilyn.
January Jones – She would be incredibly believable as a Marilyn look-alike, and I’m sure that her acting experience on Mad Men would add validity to the role, since she’s used to playing a character from that same time period.
Kate Winslet – Kate is a serious actress, and there is no doubt that she would put everything into playing Marilyn Monroe. She is also curvy and incredibly sensuous, like the blond bombshell, and would be very authentic in the role.
Jennifer Love Hewitt – She may be a brunette, but slap a wig and some false eyelashes on this curvy beauty and she would be a doppelganger for Marilyn.
Jessica Biel - Jessica pretty much has the whole package as far as allure, beauty, and sex appeal goes to play Marilyn Monroe. Her intoxicating looks alone make her a great fit for the role.
