Angelina Jolie To Star as Marilyn Monroe
Although an official announcement has yet to be made, Oscar winning actress and mother of 6, Angelina Jolie is rumoured to be playing iconic blonde Marilyn Monroe in a new film.
The Life and Opinions of Maf The Dog, And Of His Friend Marilyn Monroe, is a book written by Andrew O’Hagan chronicling the stories of the last 2 years of Monroe’s life through the eyes of her per Maltese terrier, Maf. Maf the dog was a gift from Frank Sinatra and is short for Mafia.
Alongside Jolie, George Clooney is rumoured to be playing Frank Sinatra in the movie version of the book.
I’m really hoping that this isn’t true, even though O’Hagan told the London Telegraph that Jolie was playing Monroe. I can’t think of anyone who would be less believable as Marilyn Monroe. And while I’m sure Clooney and Jolie would have great chemistry, it would be unbelievable to try to see them as anyone other than ‘Clooney and Jolie’ on the big screen.
Scarlett Johannson and Mad Men star Christina Hendricks had also been considered for the role, both of whom I think would be much better picks than Jolie. What do you think? Do you think Angelina could pull of Marilyn Monroe on the big screen?

I don’t think she’s a very good actress and won’t see the movie if she’s in it. Not even when it eventually ends up on TV. It’s just wrong!

Becca commented on Aug 25 10 at 2:39 pmHendricks or Johansen would be better than Jolie because they are better actors. Jolie very thin for a curvacious Monroe.
