Mitrice Richardson’s Body Found: Family Wants Answers

image5374961x 300x225 Mitrice Richardsons Body Found: Family Wants AnswersThe tragic story of Mitrice Richardson has been spiraling out of Los Angeles for nearly a year, but is finally garnering national attention today when the 25-year-old’s substitute teacher’s remains were found in a Malibu Canyon park. The sad story took investigators everywhere from California to Las Vegas, where they had been searching for Richardson most recently based on tips from people in the area.

On September 17, 2009, Richardson was said to have stumbled into a restaurant off the Pacific Coast Highway, alone, and caused a disturbance. Witnesses claimed she was clearly intoxicated, and she even ended up sitting with a group of strangers, interrupting their meal. The final straw for managers at the restaurant was when Richardson was unable to pay her $89 dinner bill, and they called the police to come and get her.

What happened after she left with the cops remains a mystery, and her family is demanding answers.

After being arrested, Richardson was taken to the Malibu-Lost Hills police station and booked for not paying for her food and a small amount of marijuana found in her car, which was impounded upon her arrest. Though witnesses at the restaurant thought she was acting “out of the ordinary,” police officers at the station claimed Richardson was acting normally, even declining the offer to stay in jail overnight, despite not having anyone in the area to come to get her. Post-booking, she was released by police in the middle of the night, without her car or a cell phone on her. That was the last anyone saw her until her body was discovered early this morning.

Friends and family claimed that Mitrice was heading down a slippery slope, acting unlike her usual self shortly before her disappearance, but no one expected her tragic end. Now, her family is demanding answers, especially from the police station that released her into the night without any way to get home. Her parents have both filed lawsuits claiming police negligence, and her father insists that “someone will be held accountable.” The investigation into the police’s actions and Richardson’s death is ongoing.

What do you think? Do you think the police were wrong to release her in the middle of the night, even if Mitrice claimed she was fine?

I can understand her not wanting to “hang out” at the police station. But the cop story sucks too. Did investigators check the local security cameras for clues? Did she leave on her own, or did she leave with someone who looked trust worthy? Like a cop?

I’am s-o-o-o s-o-o-o very sorry.. I kept praying & hoping that they would find her alive.. After about3 months, intuition told me that she was either captured by a sex ring being used as a sex slave, or deceased. But I continued to hope and pray that she would be found alive! May she RIP.. My prays go out to the family & friends.. May God be with you, & keep you!
On the other hand.. This is so hard I have been praying for her safe return since she first vanished. I think the LAPD had something to do with her death. I hope there is evidence to prove it. The main thing I have been looking forward to see is the video of her in the police station and her leaving. The FBI should have been took over this case it does not make any since the story the LAPD have. “NOT AT ALL” Enough is enough this is not the first time that someone have vanished after being placed under police custody. I truly feel that the police knows what happened to Mitrice.. and I think they were involved.. Gut instinct.

I feel so bad for her family. It is not unusual at all for people to be released from police stations or jails at all hours of the night with no ride available. Often, they are even released with no shoes or appropriate clothing to be walking home in – because that is what they were picked up in. I am not saying it is right in any way, I am just saying that this is how it has been since the beginning of time. That being said, someone needs to take responsibilty for this young life being ended, someone knows exactly what happened – time to step up!

Why did LA County Sheriff, Lee Baca, say there do not appear to be any foul play in Mitrice Richardson’s Death? Please explain Mr. Baca, how on earth did her remains end up in such an isolated location? Was her remains placed there after her body had decayed? Can it be proven from soil sample taken under the remains that she died on the spot where her bones were found? I do think there are two likely possibilities. Her bones were placed there after the fact. Or, she was lured to the location, assaulted and murdered. Despite her mental state, it seems she wanted to live, as she had made it so far from the Lost Hill Police Station where she had been booked earlier. A thorough investigation should be done. Please someone go back to the site and secure soil sample to prove or disprove that decay had taken place at or near where bones were found. This is extremely important.

This story is so disgusting. I believe that third ciudad know more. I often won’t if they’re involved in her disappearance. I don’t believe three cops asked her to stay overnight, as reports stated. I don’t know to many police
