Celebrity Parents Who Eat Organic

Courtney Cox Celebrity Parents Who Eat OrganicAfter the success of Food Inc. and Food Revolution, more celebrities are turning to organic foods and products as part of a healthier lifestyle.

Courteney Cox, star of Scream 4 and CougarTown, and her husband David Arquette, are buying organic, especially for their 6-year-old daughter Coco.

“I try to always be as green as possible,” the actress, 46, told US Magazine.   ”For Coco, I got her Organic Matters [products] which Jen Meyer told me about.”

Organic Matters sells everything from bedding to beauty products and offers a wide assortment of organic, natural and recycled alternatives to many commercially manufactured goods.  Meyer who is a jewelry designer who is married to  Spiderman‘s Tobey Maguire, inspired Courteney to switch to more eco-friendly beauty products.

“She told me about this one called Weleda,” Courteney says. “It’s this shampoo and body wash. It’s natural and great – I use it on Coco!”

Courteney is just one of the many celebrities that have jumped on the organic wagon.

HBO’s Entourage bombshell Emmanuelle Chriqui is very dedicated to the environment and organics.  She serves as an ambassador to the Environmental Media Association, is involved with the Yes To Carrot Seed Fund, and Los Angeles Unified School District to support organic gardens in Los Angeles urban schools.  Other celebs involved include Olivia Wilde, Rosario Dawson, Amy Smart, and Lance Bass.

Jessica Simpson Twitter 200x300 Celebrity Parents Who Eat OrganicRemember Jessica Simpson’s infamous “chicken or fish” moment?  Recently Jessica has been on a vegan diet. She wrote on Twitter about her first experiences with tofu (which she dipped in ketchup), drinking Pu-erh tea, and natural healing through cupping with a teacher named Master Wang.

She also made clear that “this has NOTHING to do with weight! It is about understanding my body through hydration and alkalinity,” she wrote.

Kelly Osbourne is refusing to eat meat unless it is organic after hearing the shocking stories about the American meat industry and the terrible conditions facing some farm animals.  The singer-turned-reality-TV-star went “fully green”  by giving up bottled water and building a compost heap in her garden.

Kelly is also being more careful about what she eats. In her column for Britain’s Closer magazine, she wrote:  “I’ve become increasingly aware of how disgusting the American meat industry can be – and it’s seriously put me off eating meat. I’ve heard that cows are fed through a hole in their stomach to make them get fatter quicker and I can’t believe some chicken producers inject them with water first so they’re heavier! “I don’t have a problem with people eating meat, but I am careful to only buy organic now.”

Convinced that you should switch to organic too?   This Organic Food Buying Guide is a great place to start your journey to better health.

We only eat meat, eggs and dairy that has been locally raised, is hormone and antibiotic free, and the animals are grass fed, or receive organic grains. Our health has improved dramatically, and you can really taste the difference. We support our local farmers, which continues to help our local economy.

Bravo, I too am actively and consciously making a change to go organic. The FDA and government to decide to put what ever they want into others foods, my choice, my family is going to be organic, free range, grass fed beef and poultry that is hormone, and antibiotic free. And everyone wonders why 12 year old girls look like they are 25…. Vegetables fertilized with manure from cows that are full of antibiotics and hormones also uptake the same chemicals, and this is the reason why everyone hears about e-coli in vegetables. Go full organic, take a stand and let the chemical giant Monsanto take their roundup ready seeds somewhere else. We are tired of chemicals in our foods, and the FDA looking the other way (as they are lead by former Monsanto Reps.). Go Organic, your family will thank you.

@Dabear:
Brother please go do a little reading before you post. Absorption of Antibiotic’s, and Hormones from Manure? None of that has anything to do with E-Coli. E-Coli is a completely natural virus. Proper hygiene during processing of Vegetables including fresh spinach would prevent much of its spread. Again it has nothing at all to do with the Hormones, Etc in the meat industry?

the Meat industry generally is careful to remove animal organs in tact and to sterilize the carcass with Heat or Chemicals. (But that is not a very organic process.. Better to butcher your own meat and just keep it clean..

Organic is such a difficult designation to get, especially for food items. But even an improvement to all-natural is worth while. We have local farmers here that we support as well (Northern VA)…http://valleygreennaturals.com/naturalliving.html

Last month the Center for Food Safety launched a new mobile application that helps shoppers quickly and easily identify foods to avoid that are made with ingredients from genetically modified (GM) organisms. The free app, “The Center for Food Safety’s True Food Shoppers Guide”, is available for mobile devices through iTunes and Android Market. Extremely helpful and filled with a wealth of information as well! http://itunes.apple.com/app/true-food/id379459607?mt=8
