JetBlue Flight Attendant Steve Slater’s Mom Defends Son
So yeah, JetBlue flight attendant Steve Slater pretty much sunk his career in the service industry when he dramatically quit his job after a fight with a passenger, taking a ride down the emergency slide with two beers in hand.
While it’s obviously not right what he did, Steve Slater is getting some support from people on Twitter and Facebook who know the feeling of someone pushing you over the edge at your job and who have secretly dreamed of quitting in style.
Turns out Steve Slater’s mom is also in his corner, as she defends her son for his illegal actions that were also admittedly semi-hilarious.
Here’s how it went down: Steve Slater got into a fight with a passenger on board the flight who was trying to pull luggage down from the overhead compartment before the plane came to a stop. Slater allegedly got hit in the head and demanded an apology – when that didn’t happen (the passenger reportedly cursed at him), he got on the PA with some choice words for the passenger before exiting the parked plane down the emergency slide.
Steven Slater has been arrested on criminal mischief and reckless endangerment charges and could face jail time.
Slater’s mom, via his ex-wife, told TMZ.com that she believes her son “politely” asked a woman to return to her seat until the plane came to a full stop. Steven’s mom said that he described the passenger’s actions as “malicious.”
What do you think of JetBlue flight attendant Steve Slater’s dramatic job exit?

One day, however, without a tear shed, I will jump off this corporate, top loaded, beaurocratic mess and into my choice – whatever it may be..
