Former Sentator Ted Stevens Passes Away in Plane Crash
Former United States Senator Ted Stevens, 86, was killed last night in a plane crash in southwestern Alaska on his way with friends to a lodge where he often spent the summers fishing. Nine other people were on board, five of whom are believed dead.
This was not Ted’s first plane crash. He survived one in 1978 that killed seven people including his first wife, Ann. Prior to that, he had a premonition that he would meet his end via a plane crash.
Ted and Ann had five children; sons, Ben, Walter, and Ted; and two daughters, Susan and Beth. Ted met his second wife Catherine on a a blind date and was married to her 28 years, producing one child.
We send his family and loved ones our condolences.
