BBC 001538 199x300 Judge Tells Sandra Bullocks Stalker to Stay AwaySandra Bullock’s legal team appeared in a Los Angeles courtroom earlier today to take steps to protect the star, her son Louis, and the children of her ex-husband Jesse James.

A judge granted Bullock a three-year restraining order against  41-year-old Thomas Weldon whom has a history of stalking the Oscar winner.  Most recently Weldon allegedly traveled to Wyoming to find the actress shortly after being released from a Tennessee mental hospital.

“It’s obvious that this fixation on her has not changed despite seven years in the hospital in Tennessee,” Bullock’s attorney Ed McPherson said during the hearing.

This is not the first time Bullock has sough protection from Weldon.  She previously obtained a restraining order against Weldon in 2003. That order was subsequently extended, but was allowed to expire last year due to his hospitalization.  .

As an extra measure of security, Weldon was committed indefinitely to a state mental hospital in Wyoming earlier this week.
