Project Runway made a grand return last night. Season 8 premiered on Lifetime with host and mother of four Heidi Klum. And she wasn’t the only mom in the mix. One of the designers competing for fashion greatness was 29-yea-old McKell Maddox from Layton, Utah who has a nine-month old at home.  She seemed to be heartbroken to have to leave her young baby for the show’s filming.  But fortunately for her…the separation was brief. McKell was the first designer to be voted off the popular reality show.  But only after Heidi deemed her dress “butt ugly.” Ouch.

But she still has wounds from being the first cut. She said in an interview after the airing that, “It was a very intense moment, and I’m still just very perplexed,” said Maddox. “I felt like I had gotten over it … but it did definitely open the wound again,” she said. “What are (my friends and colleagues) going to think when they see this? It’s so humiliating.”

What did you think of McKell’s outfit?
