Chelsea Clinton’s Future Father-in-Law Excited About Wedding Despite Criminal History
Not everything associated with the upcoming nuptials between former first-daughter Chelsea Clinton and Marc Mezvinsky is all shiny and perfect. Clinton’s future father-in-law, Ed Mezvinsky will be bringing his dark criminal past with him to his son’s wedding.
The former Iowa Rep. Mezvinsky was convinced of fraud back in 2003 and was sentenced to federal prison for conducting scams that earned him $10 million. Marc Mezvinsky’s dad was released from prison in 2008, and subsequently began to rebuild his relationships with those around him, including his son, Chelsea, and former President and First Lady Bill and Hillary Rodham Clinton. “I’m remorseful for what happened,” Mezvinsky said of the experience. “I’m trying to move on and am grateful for the opportunity for that.”
Now the reformed criminal will be attending the much-talked-about wedding between his son and Chelsea Clinton, and has said he is “grateful” to be a part of it, despite everything that has happened. “I’m a proud papa. The family’s excited,” he said.
The elder Mezvinsky seems to have accepted full responsibility for his past actions, and will be standing proud at the wedding which will take place in Rhinebeck, NY on Saturday at the Astor Courts estate.
