Willow Smith Has A Stylist! A Fashion Gallery of Her Looks (PHOTOS)

100607A1 SMITH W B GR 23 221x300 Willow Smith Has A Stylist! A Fashion Gallery of Her Looks (PHOTOS)Willow Smith is the daughter of Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith so cool is in her blood. I thought her ability to always look ultra-hip was just good genes. Not so. The 9 year old (9 years old!) has a stylist (a stylist!).

Willow is in the public eye so there is pressure on her to look, at the least, presentable. No one can argue she hasn’t been successful. But having professional help seems excessive and I can’t help but wonder if putting so much emphasis on looks is unhealthy and will harm her later in life.

But again…she does look good. And if you had a bunch of money and your child was interested in fashion, maybe you would encourage and help them as much as you can?

“Willow is definitely inspired by Rihanna’s style,” her stylist Mariel Haenn tells HollywoodLife.com. “We make an effort to give Willow her own style, so as not to be a mini-version of Rihanna, but Willow really knows what she likes and what she doesn’t like, and she’s vocal about it.”

Mom Jada is involved in the process, giving the final vote on what both Willow and her son Jaden will wear. “Jada said upfront that she didn’t want us to dress them like standard kids, like with Sesame Street T-shirts,” Mariel continued. “And the kids really like dressing as adults and hope that adults will want to dress like them. But Jada will put her foot down if there’s something she doesn’t like, though if the kids really love it, she’ll usually let it pass.”

In fact, the clothes are so adult that they are usually cut down from women’s pieces.

What do you think of this? Is it crazy? Willow’s crew is even hoping she gets a fashion deal out of her style. “With Rihanna, pretty soon after she came on the scene, you started seeing designers from Forever 21 to Gucci coming out with styles mimicking her look. We hope the same thing happens here, but I think the ultimate goal is for Willow and Jaden to have their own line.”

Again Willow is 9. Below are some of her looks.

SAD! Another Hollywood child growing up without a childhood. Nine years old! Baby Girl, you need to still be playing with your dolls- not makeup and fashion accessories.

IMO I think 9 is too young to be dress like that, in fact i wouldn’t like my kids to be dress like that at any age but i think this is the price some parents are willing to pay to keep their kids in the spotlight. I don’t think these outfits are even nice and as for identity I’m so sorry but the girl looks like a bad cartoon… So sad!

Yikes. I love fashion as much as the next girl but yuk! She looks terrible. Poor girl. They need to let her be a kid and wear what she likes. I would NOT let my 9 year old dress like that. So what if she is in the spot light she doesn’t need to be dressed like that. She is 9 not 19. Poor kid.

she looks a mess. I can not believe jada and will would allow her hair to be cut like that, she looks so boyish. what were they thinking. I know kids find their way of dressing, want to be different, but wow, her hair and clothes, she looks a mess. jada and will do not parent these kids, were is the guidance.

The looks are pretty crazy, but I think people are completely overreacting: none of the outfits are revealing or otherwise age-inappropriate. She’s showing lot of leg in the last one, but she’s got really long legs and the inseam length is not immodest.

Really, all she’s doing is playing dress-up – totally age-appropriate. She should be playing with dolls? She probably still does. They need to let her be a kid and wear what she likes? My guess is she is wearing what she likes and that’s why the outfits don’t appeal to grown women. Poor girl? So sad? She looks like she’s having a blast and that family seems as down-to-earth as you can get being that famous. And as for the hair, totally harmless and fun, not to mention it will grow back…

The child looks like a closet from a circus exploded and she dressed from what fell close to her! However, I bet Jada and Will let her dress herself, and it is a phase she will grow out of. Especially having money, she will find the better designer clothes soon enough… right now let her look like a Rhianna reject if it makes her happy. Wait 4 years and you’ll see a huge difference, and she will HATE these phots and wonder what was she thinking! Looks just awful, unless you are Rhianna for halloween?

I’m not sure I’d get my kid a stylist at that age but her clothes are stylish and fashionable not sexy, so I don’t think there is anything wrong with her being interested in looking good! It will teach her to have discipline later in life so she’ll always look put together! I wish I had a stylist it might stop me spending all my time in my jogging bottoms! Also they seem like a close, down to earth, nice family and its good that they trust their kids to express themselves!

Whatever people. Go to six flags and take an honest look around at what other kids her age are wearing. You’d be gobsmacked!!
