0725leahsiegel268 Leah Siegel Passes Away From Breast CancerSad news. Leah Siegel, a producer for ESPN, has lost her 2 year battle with breast cancer.

Leah, just 43, leaves behind 3 children and her husband, Eric Loehr.

Leah, who won three Emmys, became an inspiration for many. Diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer in August 2008, shortly after the birth of her third child, Oliver, she took her struggle public. Over the past two years nearly 50,000 people visited her web site and her team for the Susan G Komen Race For the Cure was one of the highest fundraisers.

“Thank you to everyone,” her husband wrote on her blog. “The support over the last couple of years has been amazing. As Leah has enriched many people’s lives, I believe that her life was equally enriched.”

“Leah loved Eric and her kids and her work,” fellow ESPN reporter Ed Werder tells the Dallas News. “In the end, I agree with a colleague who told me today that she would rather we remember the good times rather than wallowing in sadness and dwell on our inability to fathom the damned unfairness of this sad ordeal.”

Our condolences to her family and friends.
