Britney Spears Supports Mel Gibson, Parent to Parent
Not many people have stood by Mel Gibson in the wake of his outrageous rants being released–aside from ex-wife Robyn. But, apparently, on that short list of people is the one and only Britney Spears. The singer–and mom of two herself–has been calling Gibson and supporting him through this time.
“Mel has been talking to her a lot. They speak on the phone all the time, usually late at night,” a source told Showbizspy.com. Apparently, Spears’ support for Gibson stems from the actor helping her out when she was going through her divorce from Kevin Federline.
“Mel was one of the only people who reached out to help Britney when she was at her lowest point, and she believes that demonstrates what a loving and wonderful man he is,” the source said.
Spears had little support from anyone in the business at her low point, similarly to Gibson now, and she is hoping everyone will give the actor a second chance, as he did for her.
At the time when Spears was being bashed in the tabloids, Gibson had said, “She’s a nice kid. She was just going through a rough patch.” It’s a shame he can’t be so level-headed about his own situation now.
Do you think Gibson will make a comeback like Spears did?
