Ashley’s Attack on Real Housewife Danielle Staub – What Really Went Down
Ashley Holmes may not be a housewife but her recent actions and participation in the dramatic hi-jinx on the show is elevating her to starring cast member status.. And she’s a good fit, like all good Real Housewives, Jacqueline Laurita’s 19 year old daughter, has a temper. And she’d not afraid to come to the defense of her mommy.
So what really prompted Ashley’s extension pulled attack on Danielle Staub? Ashley wrote a very long and lengthy blog post for Bravo and dished all about that night. She said she felt really uncomfortable after her “starring” contest with Danielle and opted to pack up and head home and “remove myself from the situation.” She said her goodbyes and headed to the Real Housewives production room to give back the mic she was wearing.
While she was taking it off she was watching the monitors and she saw the beginning of the confrontation between her mom and Teresa and their nemesis Danielle. She stated that, “We were all on edge watching the monitors, and my adrenaline was already pumping from nerves.” Then all of a sudden all four of the monitors supposedly went blank but they could hear the audio which consisted of yelling, some glasses crashing and screaming. She left the production room to see what happened and saw Danielle running down the hall. Then what really set Ashley off happened, someone told her “I think Danielle hit your mom.” Those strong familiar bonds kicked in. But Ashley didn’t try to find her mom, instead headed straight for Danielle and went on the hair pulling attack. She added that, “If you paid attention to the scene of me right before I pulled Danielle’s hair, you see me just observing the situation outside. The camera zoomed in on my face and if it looked like I was terrified and about to throw up, it’s because I was.”
She says she acted “on impulse” and said (and the all caps are all her) “I AM NOT MAKING EXCUSES FOR MYSELF.” But her hatred for Danielle was not the only reason to pull her hair, it was the lead up of what had happened between the family and the thought that Danielle had attacked her mother, she believed she was coming to her moms defense.
An attack that really comes as no surprise. Ashley said, “Danielle said that we’re on a mission to get her or something. No hunnie. IF ANYONE has been on a mission, it has been Danielle trying screw with our lives. FAIL. She’s a miserable woman.”
Like a bad marriage, these ladies are stuck with each other. As participating in the show they are forced to interact, and have to write, tweet and basically talk smack about each other… “It’s part of the gig.”
But do you think Jacqueline should have had her daughter join in and be part of the chaos or should she have protected her from the madness?

blally commented on Jul 15 10 at 5:15 pmwhen she says that the camera zoomed on her face and she looked about to throw up, we the viewers do not see that, we see a calm, collected cool Ashley that looks like she is very much in control of her emotions, unlike, might I add, Danielle, at the time was in a highly emotional state, and should have been considered a little fragile in that moment and not in need of anyone touching her, let alone pulling out something that was permanently attached to her head. It was very uncomfortable to watch that, as it makes it seem as if Bravo condones this kind of behavior, and is using it to garner ratings. I won’t watch this group of women next season, I have stopped watching the OC group as well as the Atlanta group. There was hair pulling in Atlanta too, and that is when I signed off to that show.
HWWATCHER commented on Jul 15 10 at 5:25 pmShe doesn’t respect her two-faced mom or her mush-azz step dad so why would I believe she cared. She actrs like she wants to belt her mom have the time herself! She did this out of her own little girl mind and I hope she pays for it. She should not be filmed on this show. What she needs to do is figure out why Danielle’s daughters are so much more respectful and learn from it. Also she should try to figure out why sleeping and shacking up with boys is cool just because her mom use to do it VEGAS.
LogicalMama commented on Jul 15 10 at 5:36 pmIt’s a convenient excuse for Ashley and seems fabricated to me since she got in trouble with her mom soon after. She just wanted in on the action and it made for great TV drama, right?!
Kelly commented on Jul 15 10 at 7:39 pmI don’t believe for one minute that she thought Danielle hit her mom, or that she had some kind of panic attack and black out. Get real! Those are just excuses. Out by the car when her mother told her to go home, she said, “I have a say in this too, and I think Danielle is a b*tch. That’s why I pulled her hair.”
Say what you will about Danielle, but her kids are well behaved.
SunshineNYC commented on Jul 15 10 at 9:07 pmHer excuse is lame and a bad one. She probably came up w/that after the fact to try to cover her butt. She said “I hate the bitch, that’s why I pulled her hair.” If she supposedly heard that Danielle hit her Mom, a lame hair pull is the best she could’ve done?!?!?!?! PUHLEASE. Don’t insult our intelligence. At 30 years old, I would go ballistic on someone who I thought hit my mom. And clearly Ashley is a delinquent child to begin with.. I would expect the same or more from her.
bloganalysis commented on Jul 16 10 at 6:30 pmThat was assault and no one can make you assault anyone Ashley. Real housewives, real psychological issues? Read, discuss and decide for yourself!

Dee commented on Jul 16 10 at 11:36 pmOMG really…maybe the only reason that Danielle kids are good is because they see what there mom is. Don’t blame ashley for being a normal teenager cause her mom raised her right! She knows what a good house is. I Have hated alot of people in my life but NEVER NEVER NEVER in my life have i EVER talked bad about someone’s kid!!!!! “she didn’t ask my lil girl because she is professional” and ashley isn’t really does seh see the look on her kids face when she had a dinner party 4 her self….? grow up ther is nothing good about thatlady i dont know y she is allowed on the show!!!
jenna commented on Jul 20 10 at 12:48 ami totally believe Ashely. yes, maybe she shouldn’t have hit Danielle, but she was protecting her family. and even if she was lying, it doesn’t matter because a 50 yr. old woman is fighting with a 19 yr. old. you can expect this catty behavior from a teenager, but from a woman pushing 50? Danielle is a total instigator! If she doesn’t want to be a part of their lives, then she should not interact with them. they have no one in common expect for the G’s and Danielle is not even talking to them anymore!! Danielle did call Ashley a crack whore, and said she was fat if anyone remembers!! Danielle is just an ugly person inside and out, whose just miserable about her pathetic life because she has no one. I feel so bad for her daughters, I would hate to be her child!
KAADEE commented on Jul 20 10 at 3:19 pmOMG, PALEEz! An assault is an assault is an assault! No One is allowed to touch you if you do not give permission. And Ashley – she totally and maliciously set out to cause harm to Danielle. I really don’t know the specifics of the breakdown of these relationships, but if it all stems to Danielle’s past, she paid for her crimes 25 years ago. I used to like Jacqueline, but she’s been no help to this situation, she’s egg’d on her daughter, and she knew that they didn’t belong at that event, that’s why her and “HONEY” (Teresa) went to talk to Caroline about it. But Caroline has such a vendetta about Danielle, she made a hasty decision that night and told the girls to go! Do I agree that Danielle should have brought the case to court, not really, but she could have brought civil charges to get payment for her hair restoration, and some punitives maybe for her stress. Then a HUGE apology from Teresa, Jacqueline, and Ashley! And yes, Danielle’s children are very polite and mature… unlike Teresa’s or Jacqueline’s.
Thesmiths commented on Mar 10 11 at 6:04 amWas ashley wrong? Yes, and she deserves the consequences, but was i sad to see it happen? No! So much harm, mostly off-air, this woman has done with NO consequences. I was glad to finally see any consequence to her actions, even if it was wrong. She was lucky that all it was was a hair pull – a stranger tried to beat me up just for not giving her a cigarette! She lies, manipulates, tried getting lexi taken away AND tried to sleep with dina’s husband, talks about others with the intention of creating major problems, but lies, blames everything and one, cries, avoids, and, literally, runs away when confronted with her actions. At that point, i would’ve chased after her too, to have her deal with her actions. Isn’t that what she was saying about ashley? That she should deal with the consequences of her actions? Shouldn’t she do the same? I defy all the d-defenders to show me one time she owned up for her actions – no lying, dodging or blaming things like a bad childhood. Just her taking full responsibility.
