Is Van der sloot Confession Bad News for Finding Holloway?
Beth Twitty, the mother of missing teen Natalee Holloway has said before that Joran Van der sloot, the Dutch National believed to be withholding information about her disapearance has “just totally, totally dragged us all through hell” ” Well, with news that van der Sloot has confessed to the murder of Peruvian woman Stephanny Flores, it’s possible that Beth Twitty’s nightmare may get even worse.
Why? Because as damning as Van der Sloot’s confession in the Flores murder seems, it is pretty unlikely to lead to any information about Natalee Holloway.
Due to the laws in Peru, van der Sloot faces a maximum sentence of 35 years in prison. (The death penalty in Peru is reserved for things like war crimes and genocide.) Confessing to another murder wouldn’t result in less time in prison for him; in fact, he could be extradited to Aruba and charged there, where murder carries a maximum sentence of life in prison. So, it’s hard to see why he would do that. It’s also not likely that Peruvian authorities are going to offer any sort of plea bargain of information about Holloway in exchange for a lighter sentence. They have their own victim’s family to deal with, and popular sentiment will be behind the maximum sentence, not making a deal.
Finally, Van der sloot’s only possible defense at this point is to maintain his innocence in the Natalee Holloway disappearance and allege that his conviction by media ruined his life, and led to his snapping when he caught Flores looking up information about his past. I am not saying I think that is the case; I personally think this kid is as guilty as all get out. But either way, I think it is bad news for Beth Twitty and for any hopes of getting more information about Natalee.
What do you think? Do you think Van der sloot will finally come clean about Natalee Holloway? Or do you think Beth Twitty’s nightmare will go on?

Wendy commented on Jun 08 10 at 4:20 pmI have been following this case from the biginning on Holloway?Van Der Sloot since the beginning. He lied so many times; the first time should have shown his guilt. I think in cases as this, they should give that person a truth serum. Unfortunately, I believe Natalie’s parents will not get the answers or closure they need to heal, but only can rest assured that Joran will now be sentenced, there is some justice in this. I believe Joran’s father died under the pressure & protecting his son. With his Dad’s death & him not being there to protect Joran, Joran’s guilt & pressure, probably had led him down a darker road mentally. I am sure he has felt desparate since and desparate people do desparate things. I am sure he did lose control with Stephnay in Peru; he had something to hide from her also. He has acted too cocky, before his Dad died, for me to believe his wasn’t guilty. He wouldn’t have had to lie the first time if he hadn’t conspired in the death of Natalie Holloway, the truth, if hadn’t been him, would have set him free. For both families, I wish you some peace now knowing Joran will pay now.

Linda commented on Jun 08 10 at 4:31 pmThis is a very sick man. Many mental issues and lots of built up anger.
Stephanie commented on Jun 08 10 at 8:29 pmJust proves the saying “give them enough rope and they will hang themselves”. This guy is an out and out sicko, without conscience and a masogynist. Natalee’s mom should take comfort in the fact that where he is heading will not be as cushy as a European, Aruban or USA prison. Something tells me he’ll soon be the new inmate hitting the really high notes in the prison shower……
blue bird commented on Jun 08 10 at 10:31 pmThis time he can’t get off the hook. My sympathy to the victim’s families. Sorry for the Natalee. I hope one day will find her, but Aruba authorities are as guilty as Van der Sloot … they hate us, but we don’t like them either …
Ann commented on Jun 08 10 at 10:44 pmLinda you are right, the very thought cane to mebefore I decided to check on the latest news about this killer i.e. natalie was not his first victim.
Brandi commented on Jun 08 10 at 11:01 pmI think that the fact he killed the girl in Peru for looking up his past proves his guilt what else are they looking for to convict him? I mean to kill someone to cover up your past you’ve gotta be hiding something worth killing over….. I agree he probably has more than just the two victims
kenna commented on Jun 10 10 at 1:08 pmi think she looked on the computer but i dont think she simply googled him. people dont just google random strangers for the hell of it. i think there is some type of evidence on the computer. an email, a picture, an instant message- something relating to natalee! then possibly she got curious and looked him up. if she only googled him all he had to do was deny it. the only reason to kill her- if she did get on the computer would be because she found some truth to him being involved with natalee.
