“Mama Sox” on Her Way: Crystal Bowersox Signs Record Deal
Will Crystal Bowersox be the next Adam Lambert—or the next Justin Guarini?
That’s the question on everyone’s mind as the 24-year-old single mom settles into her life, post-Idol. Just two days after placing second in this year’s contest, the 2010 American Idol runner-up signed a record deal last week. Bowersox will be appearing on 19 Recordings and Jive Records, while winner Lee DeWyze will be fronted by 19 Recordings and RCA.
Mama Sox now shares a label with Jordin Sparks, David Archueltta and Kris Allen. (As well as Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake and Usher!) Looking at past Idol runners-up, its anyone’s guess to how Bowersox will fare in her post-Idol career. Obviously, Clay Aiken and Adam Lambert have done very well for themselves, while others, like Katharine McPhee and Blake Lewis, have struggled. Time will tell. But so far, Bowersox is off to a good start!

I hope she makes a movie about her life, if she tells the truth about her life, I bet there wont be a dry eye in the theater. she is a rags to riches story. I think the lord for him giving this beautiful girl to us. a voice from heaven.

Crystal deserved to win, hands down she is the True AMERICAN IDOL! I will buy any and all of her recordings. I pray that she will be a big star because she truly deserves it. She is pure talent inside and out. The world needs to see MORE of her for sure. GO CRYSTAL…Don’t let anything or anyone keep you down!

Sure her records haven’t done that well, but she is a multi-talented, multi-faceted star, doing movies and TV as well as being in big demand for live performances. jeff wagar commented on Jun 10 10 at 8:46 pmi was listening to a npr program and they were talking about janis joplin and would like to make a movie about her but couldn’t think of anybody that could do the movie. crystal is a dead ringer for such a movie. she is better than janis i think.
