Will Ferrell Dresses Like An Actual Dad (sorry, Will, that’s not a compliment)

FNP BFH 025901 0 Will Ferrell Dresses Like An Actual Dad (sorry, Will, thats not a compliment)Will Ferrell picked up his two older sons, Magnus, 6, and Matthias, 3, from their school in West Hollywood yesterday. Garbed in plaid shorts, a possibly sweat-soaked t-shirt, a visor, and high ankle-socks, he was dressed like the Everyman Dad. Or, to be precise, like my dad. Exactly like my dad. I’d attach a photo of my father in his Ferrell-esque attire, except that when I publish unfashionable pics of my Pops, I tend to hear from my folks’ lawyer. Some families are loving, others are litigious. To each his own.

Plus, there are some distinct differences between my dad and Will Ferrell. To wit:

1. My father wore those exact shorts (exact!) when I was the age of Will’s oldest son. But that was in the 1970s. Making it slightly less mortifying. Of course, “slightly less mortifying” than TOTALLY COMPLETELY horrifying…is still quite horrifying.

Chris Pine August 2009 Will Ferrell Dresses Like An Actual Dad (sorry, Will, thats not a compliment)2. My father is less famous than Will Ferrell. Technically, that means that him wearing bad dad-clothes should be less embarrassing. I mean, photos of my dad’s outfits are rarely posted on blogs. Moral? There’s a reason that parents in the public eye have fashion stylists. It’s so that their children can hold their heads up at school.

3. The Fila visor. My father has a slight (read: major) addiction to Fila visors. And yet, he only wears them on the tennis court. So I ask, what’s up with celebrities and visors? Once a year, someone tries to bring them back as street fashion. Last year, it was Star Trek‘s Chris Pine (at right). His Visor Quest failed. This year, it’s Will Ferrell. Prediction: Failure.

What do you think of Will’s outfit? Humiliating? Or Dad-Uniform perfection?

Who really cares what he wears when he picks up his children from school? What should he do, glam out every day of his life? He doesn’t even look bad, he looks comfortable! At any rate, there is a reason why he is as you call it “dressed like a dad”. Are you ready for this? HE IS A DAD!!! Get off his back!

I am sure he is more comfortable than you on those clothes. :)
