Alicia Keys Pregnant, Her Once Controversial Relationship is Now Smooth Sailing
As you’ve already heard, Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz are expecting a baby and planning a wedding. Yup, the rumors are confirmed. And you know what that means! The Alicia Keys bump watch is officiall ON. We’ll be keeping an eye on her belly…and her marriage plans. Yet it also means that naysayers about her relationship with Beatz have been proven wrong.
The songstress, 29, and the rapper/producer, 31, have no kids together so far, but Swizz Beatz has two children from two different previous relationships: Kasseem Jr., 3, and son Prince Nasir, 9. Baby Keys-Beatz is due sometime later this year (no more details here).
And while, according to PEOPLE, the couple has been dating since the fall of 2008, they didn’t go public with their relationship until this time last year. That’s when Beatz told the NY Daily News, “we’re nowhere near ready for a baby or a ring.” He explained to the reporter that he and Keys had kept their relationship under wraps because, ”what we have is so precious” and because it might have rubbed his wife the wrong way. His bitter divorce from R&B singer Mashonda was still underway then (it wasn’t finalized until May 7 of this year!). And reportedly Mashonda was not happy about Keys emergence in Beatz’s life.
Alicia Keys pregnant and engaged? We say, Yay! The past is the past. Keys and Beatz seem to be on steady ground, and we can’t wait to watch her bump grow.
