Kelly Bensimon Does Damage Control Via Twitter
Coming off of last night’s “Kelly Bensimon: Crazy” episode, the most volatile Real Housewife is speaking out—on Twitter. Sure, The Real Housewives of New York is always over the top, but last night took the cake. And it took it at the expense of Bensimon, whose apparent mental break was painfully documented on camera. The entire thing unraveled during a group vacation to the island if St. John, a trip that turned into a descent into hell.
So why’s Bensimon so calm this morning? Here tweets are almost level-headed and serene. Who’s the real Kelly? Excerpts from the Kelly Bensimon Twitter feed, below, plus a Twitter tidbit from Ramona Singer, too.
Right from the start, Kelly Bensimon tweets a disclaimer:
i wish i could talk about the mechanics of the show, but i cant. have fun with it. dynasty without the money or power
She also responded to a twitter message from one particular concerned viewer, who asked, “You scare me and I feel bad for your children…how can someone be so unstable and be a mother?” Replied Kelly:
my children are amazing. its tv, have fun with it. i was so creeped out by this trip. it was so disgusting
In fact, her kids are getting a little treat, perhaps for their patience with their mom’s on-screen antics. Kelly writes:
i am taking my kids to justin beiber its their #dream concert

If you’re worried about Kelly, it seems that today, at least, she’s taking care of herself—and others! At around 9 a.m. she tweeted:
off to yoga and then to get my rescue lab from Animal Haven. she’s goin’ to get a whole lotta love.
All in all, she sounds a heck of a lot saner than Courtney Love. As for the photo above? It was posted on Twitter by Ramona Singer, with a note: “Wasn’t last night’s show crazy? Had to show you photo of RHONYC – 4 of us in St. John looking hott on the beach!”
Got any recs for Kelly for the reunion show? Last night, Sarah Jessica Parker had one! She was guest-for-the-night on Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live, and joked (well, half-joked) to host Andy Cohen: “you should have some actual medical professionals available during that reunion.”
Love SJP. Love the Housewives — well, a few of them, at least.

Tricia commented on May 21 10 at 6:06 pmI think anyone would have a hard time being on a trip for that long while being constantly belittled, talked down to, and told over and over again that you are crazy.
I actually admire Kelly for trying to stick up for people who are not around and not gossip about them. And for that she is viciously attacked verbally, called names and told that she is crazy and not making sense. I also think that there are many ways to kill someone…and to kill someone’s spirit as Bethanny repeatedly does to Kelly is vicious.

If you read all of her tweets for the last week, it’s obvious that she’s desperately trying to appear normal, and failing miserably. Bravo shouldn’t bring her back, and they probably shouldn’t allow her on the reunion show, either.

Bethany can not attack Kelly’s spirit with a butter knife. I don’t think she was talking about her spirit. The women maybe behave vicious with each other at times, but don’t you think that Kelly is vicious as well?
I don’t think that Kelly is as strong of a person as the other housewives, so the others, particularly Bethany come across as being vicious. Kelly has issues that may stem from mental instability or drug use. I feel for her, but it seems that her life goes on…like that behavior was okay and normal. I pray for her children.

I saw Bethenny in the middle of a grief session talking about her dad, and then I heard Kelly questioning if B was a chef or a cook? That was way out there. I saw Bethenny spend all afternoon in a kitchen fixing great drinks, salads, crab cakes, steak, and dessert. I saw Bethenny take the time and energy to make beautiful gift bags and fill them with fun little treasures. Then I saw a crazy woman react to her own crazy. In no way did those women EVER belittle or bully Kelly. I admired Bethenny for how she handled the entire trip so far.
