Win Your Own Oprah-Backed Talk Show!
Aspiring television personalities, take note: You, too, can become an internationally adored talk show host! And who else would offer you this chance but Oprah Winfrey, who loves making dreams come true! The Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN) has opened up online auditions for “Your Own Show: Oprah’s Search for the Next TV Star.” What a perfect job for a mom — if you’re the star, they probably let you take your kids to work. (Haven’t you seen all the movie stars with their children on the set?) Here’s how to do it:
Anyone interested in getting their own talk show on OWN can submit a three minute audition tape to Oprah.com through June 26. The site includes a video editing kit as well as tips om making a compelling video from Oprah’s celeb friends, including Lisa Ling and Peter Walsh.
Visitors to Oprah.com will vote on the online submissions, with the top five getting flown out to Los Angeles for an in-person audition with Mark Burnett Productions, which will be producing the series for OWN.
There are five categories: traditional talk show, cooking show, interior design or fashion, health and well being and “wildcard,” which I guess means anything goes. Good luck!
