Are Things Getting Nasty? Updates & Details On The Tiger Woods-Elin Divorce
Uh oh. It looked like things were going to be civil in the divorce between Tiger Woods and Elin Nordegren, but already proceedings are taking a turn into messy territory. Tiger’s lawyers have accused Elin’s legal team of leaking information to the media.
Elin’s lawyer, London-based Walter H. White, Jr., sent an email to his staff on April 19, 2010 that states: “Recently we have been accused by the other side of leaking information to the press. While we do not believe that anyone in the firm has been responsible for the leaks, we are aware that this is the second time that we have been so accused … ” It goes on to urge them to “avoid conversations relating to firm activities in public …”reports TMZ.com.
Will direct orders stop up the leak? We’ll have to wait and see.
Here’s a brief rundown of how things are playing out in the divorce thus far:
–They want it speedy and confidential. Tiger has a team working on the division of assets and they want everything kept under wraps.
–Divorce is Elin’s idea. “There is no arguing any more,” a source told RadarOnline.com. “They don’t fight. There is a coldness between them and it’s Elin who is pulling the plug on the marriage.” The damage is just too much.
—They’re committed to joint custody. They’ve been passing their two kids back and forth. “They have not been getting along as a married couple but there has been no conflict over the children,” says an insider. “They both want what’s best for the kids.
—Elin is setting up a home in Sweden and also in South Florida, which has a guest house where Tiger can stay when he visits the children.
—Elin is reportedly insisting their divorce settlement includes a pledge that their two children remain his ”principal heirs,” even if he has more children in the future.
