5 Things That Led Up To Matt Lauer and His Wife’s Break Up
Oh Matt Lauer! Not you too! The National Enquirer has reportedly outted yet another rich and powerful figure and family man who is also a cheater. In the recent past they’ve discovered alleged infidelities by men in a wide range of fields. In the world of sports -Tiger Woods. In the dramatic arts -Mel Gibson and David Boreanaz. And in politics – John Edwards. But now someone who usually just reports on the news, is making news.
According to The National Enquirer, Matt Lauer and his wife of twelve-years – Annette Lauer – have broken up. Not only did Matt Lauer reportedly move out of the home he shared with the wife and three children, but Annette has been spotted without her wedding ring. What led up to the break up?
1. The Olympics – Matt goes for the gold?
Annette has allegedly accused Matt of cheating on her while he was away covering the Winter Olympics in Vancouver, British Colombia earlier this year.
2. Missed Valentine’s Day
Annette supposedly first got suspicious when Matt opted to stay in Vancouver over Valentine’s Day instead of coming home.
3. The Broadcaster Babes
Matt was allegedly spotted out drinking and flirting with an array of women. Two of special note were a pair of “pretty Canadian broadbasters”
4. No rush to come home
Instead of coming home at the end of NBC’s Olympics coverage was done, Matt stayed in Vancouver for a bit.
5. Loose lips sink ships
A wife of one of Matt’s coworkers supposedly informed Annette to Matt’s philandering ways. Matt insisted they were “just friends.”
This isn’t the first time that Annette has supposedly suspected his cheating. And at one point she had filed for divorce but pulled her filing after about a month. But the big questions is…what about the kids? Radaronline.com quoted a source saying that, “Matt is still very involved in his children’s lives. He goes to the family apartment after he finishes his Today duties to see the kids – and picks them up from school.” The source continued to say, “For their sake, he and Annette plan to continue getting together on weekends – and they’ll go to their house in the Hamptons.”
