Mother Of Bret Michaels’ Children: “I Wasn’t Going To Leave His Side”
Kristi Gibson has two daughters with Bret Michaels, Raine, 9, and Jorja, 5, and has been a consistent force in his life.
Having watched Bret cavort with drunken [word redacted-rhymes with flanks or bores or fluts] on VH1′s Rock of Love and the similarly themed show that was set on a tour bus, you knew this lady 1) really loves Bret and 2) is stronger than your average woman.
During Bret’s recent medical scare Kristi proved her strength to be bionic, keeping the family together and supporting everyone through the emergency.
“In most of our world, Bret’s the hero, but in this situation, Kristi was the hero – she saved his life,” says Michaels’s guitarist and friend, Pete Evick.
Kristi was the one who first took Bret to the hospital after he began having pain. ”I said, ‘I’m not leaving his side.” I held his hand and told him, ‘It’s going to be okay.’ Just from his eyes, you could tell how much pain he was in. I wanted to take away that pain so bad,” she tells People.
Bret meanwhile, was worried about his family. ”He was just worried about me and the girls – that’s all he cared about. I was like don’t worry about us, we’ll be fine.”
The couple have an on-again-off-again relationship that Bret calls “a positive work in progress.”
The rock star, who is going to make a full recovery, is lucky in so many ways.
