Colin Hanks Getting Married! A Peek At His Registry
Colin Hanks, Tom Hanks’ son, is getting married tomorrow. The younger Hanks has been engaged to publicist Samantha Bryant since last year, but this is the first we’ve heard of a firm wedding date—with barely enough time to buy a gift! We’ve got his wedding registry, plus event details below.
The couple is clearly as low-key as Colin’s dad: They’ve registered not at Tiffany and Bergdorf’s, but instead at the comparatively affordable Crate & Barrel, Bloomingdales, and Williams-Sonoma. The registries are under the name Colin Bryant & Samantha Bryant (sneaky kids!). So what do they want?
- At Crate & Barrel, their registry is totally bought out. What was on it? A a $26 set of six maragarita glasses. Plus economically-priced martini glasses, casual dishes, platters, vases, and serving bowls.
- According to their Boomingdales registry, friends have already bought the couple a complete set of “Jasper Conran at Wedgwood Platinum” dishes ($139 per place setting), but they still needs a number of serving pieces from the Christofle Albi 2 Stainless flatware collection (OHMIGOD, not to brag, but that’s the silverware that my family uses, thanks to my own wedding registry a few years ago!).
- At Williams-Sonoma, they’re waiting for this $28 Jelly Roll Pan, plus a number of pots and pans from All-Clad’s LTD2 collection.
As for the event itself, though Bryant is based in NYC, the couple will be getting married in the L.A. area. Obviously, family members incuding dad Tom Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson will be there (sadly not Colin’s mom, Tom’s first wife, Samantha Lewes—she passed away from bone cancer in 2002). Who else? No word yet, though we’ll be keeping our eye out for mom Busy Philipps—she and Colin dated after meeting in college at Loyola Marymount. Other possibilities: his co-stars from Orange County, King Kong (hello, Naomi Watts!), and my favorite, Mad Men.
As for Colin’s upcoming projects, look for him in The Good Guys, a buddy-show co-starring Bradley Whitford, debuting on FOX on May 19.
Congrats to Colin and Samantha, and also in-laws-to-be Tom and Rita! Nothing makes us happier than a celebrity wedding, especially when it’s a celebrity’s kid.
