What Shocked SNL’s Ana Gasteyer Most About Parenting?
There are various moments of parenthood: the good, the bad, and, of course, the ugly. But one moment that rarely gets attention is the moment you realize you’re shocked. You could be shocked at anything — we’re no strangers to explosive poop stories — but for most moms, the smallest thing can be the hardest to accept. We recently caught up with Ana Gasteyer of Saturday Night Live fame, mom of daughter Frances and son Ulysses, and asked her what shocked her. Her answer was surprisingly refreshing. “It’s such a trite answer,” she told us, “but everybody talks about how tired you are. I mean, I worked on SNL for six years and I was completely impervious to fatigue, but especially with my second, who just turned two… sleep deprivation is overwhelming to me.”
We feel your pain, Ana! As for the other moments of parenthood, she says, “The rest has been largely entertaining.”
