McSteamy Does Diapers! Eric Dane and Rebecca Gayheart Debut Daughter
Paparazzi pics aside, Eric Dane and Rebecca Gayheart have officially debuted their daughter Billie Beatrice Dane. And they did so in the manner of many proud parents before them, on the cover of UsWeekly.
The couple shared their feelings about being brand new parents as well as giving UsWeekly exclusive photos of them and their bundle of joy. And the cover certainly pays tribute to Eric Dane’s McSteamy-ness, the new dad posed shirtless with this wife and daughter.
What did the couple have to say about their new addition?
“She’s beautiful,” the Grey’s Anatomy star told Us Weekly. “When she came out, she was really alert and her eyes were open. The doctor gave her to her mom, and I was so … you know, I was obviously very emotional.”
Rebecca added that the birth “was an overwhelming moment — probably the greatest moment in my life thus far.” She continued to say that “we felt so blessed. The moment we’ve been waiting for finally came.”
On the topic of having difficulties conceiving, Eric said, “When we stopped trying for a baby, that’s when it happened.” He continues, “You go through trying to get pregnant, then the pregnancy — and then there’s a result in this beautiful little girl! It’s like, ‘Wow! Welcome to the world!’ Well, actually, I think the first thing I said to her was, ‘I’m going to show you some really cool s–t.’”
“Childbirth is a miracle,” he adds, “and we’ve created this life.”
And that life made a big change in theirs. He stated,” It changes how you look at things and how you feel about things. I like to think of myself as an artist — but now I’m working for my kid. Now I’m a father. I’ve got a lunch pail, I go to work and I come home and I make sure my kid is taken care of, and I make sure my wife is take care of. ”
And Eric is a hands on dad, Rebecca noted that,“Eric is the swaddle ninja. He does a lot of the diapering and swaddling.”
The issue comes out this Friday and will include how long Rebecca’s “difficult” labor lasted, why they picked the name Billie and their plans for number two.
