Jenna Jameson Says Attack “Distorted” By Media. Is She Thinking of Her Kids?
Jenna Jameson is backpeddling from the domestic violence charges filed against the father of her kids, Tito Ortiz, stemming from an alleged assault in their home earlier this week.
“What actually happened has now been dramatically distorted and misinterpreted,” Jameson told TMZ. “Remarks that both Tito and I made after the police arrived reflect the state of shock that we were both in.”
So what did happen? Well, no one’s saying. But why would they be in a state of shock if there wasn’t some sort of situation going on?
Tito Ortiz is also backing off allegations that Jameson had an Oxycontin problem, claiming now that he found two old pills and jumped to conclusions. Earlier this week, Jameson passed a drug test, so it does appear that those suspicions are unfounded. But that’s not the point. The point is that these are two people with young children who were involved in some sort of altercation that required police–and the police made judgment to arrest Ortiz, based in part on physical evidence. It’s not uncommon, at all, for women to recant statements in domestic violence cases. In fact, it happens all the time, for complex emotional and psychological reasons. And in some cases, for financial ones.
Speaking of finances, if Ortiz is found guilty of these charges, his UFC contract is voided, and he loses $15 million. Could that be playing into their decision to change their story?
Everything about his situation is bad for children–the fighting, the possible violence, the accusations about drug abuse. Someone needs to just get to the bottom of this and figure out what happened and how they should proceed, in terms of caring for those kids. Let’s hope no matter what is said or retracted, this situation is fully investigated and due process takes place.
