Latest Victim of Justin Bieber Mania: His Mom!
Justin Bieber’s mother, Pattie Mallette, was knocked over by his fans at the airport in New Zealand yesterday, the latest victim of the Justin Bieber mania that is apparently sweeping the tweenybopper population of planet earth.
The scene in New Zealand is beginning to become a familiar sight, wherever Bieber is involved. His presence seems to inspire mass hysteria–fainting, crying and now lately, stampedes. Luckily, both the pop sensation and his mom were fine. After the incident, Bieber tweeted:
@JustinBieber : ‘Finally got to New Zealand last night. The airport was crazy. Not happy that someone stole my hat and knocked down my mama. Come on people.’
Of course the mom in me can’t help but thinking: you listed the hat first? THE HAT? But if Mallette was piqued over his word order, she didn’t mention it. She also took to Twitter to assure Bieber’s fans that she was fine:
@studiomama : ‘Thanks for all ur support!! I’m ok thank you!!! On my way to bungy jumping!!! Whoopeeeee :)’
By the way, Justin Bieber’s mother has 65,000 followers on Twitter.
In all seriousness, the fan reaction to Bieber is becoming pretty dangerous. I’m glad my kids aren’t old enough to pester me about going to see him, because I don’t know what I’d do. My own mother sat through two New Kids on the Block concerts for me, and waited with me to try to get their autographs. Sadly, it never happened, so my dream of marrying Donnie Wahlberg and line-dancing to ‘The Right Stuff’ at my wedding never came to fruition.
